RE-VALUATIONS.

YAM'EH-GENERAL'S L ETTER. TO KATE PA THUS' ASSOCIATION. Following is Ihe text of the letter from lile Valuer-General in reply to the deputation's request for a new revaluation of the Borough of Pukekolie- "[ have to acknowledge reeeipl of your letter'of the 9th instant with reference to my recent visit to Pukekolie to enquire into certain anomilies in values wliich are alleged to exist between the unimproved values assigned to properties in the town and suburbs. In reply I have to advise you that as Die result of my enquiries it has been decided to revise the recent re-valualion of the Borough and correct it in Die respects in which it is deficient. Notices of Die new values will be forwarded to owners. You have my assurance that the new values will be available for the rating year 1923-2 i.—F. W. Flanagan, Val-uer-General.”

This is not Die reply the deputation wanted. What it asked for is an entirely new re-valuation, not merely the patching up of the present one. Further representation is to be made by local ratepayers.
