PATUMAHOE." The Mauku Athletic Club has again commenced the organisation of its .forces for another sports meeting effort, at leasts we hope, of ecfuaf merit ito 4ts immediate predecessors. The annual general meeting' of the club was heid in the Patumahoe Hall on the 29th ult, the meeting being opened by a few well-chosen words from the chairman (Mr W. Finlay) who has also been re-elected president of the club for this year. The out-going hon. secretary and treasurer (Mr H,R. Baigent). who, also was re-elected to the same position, gave a brief resume of the season’s operations, making several suggestions for the more effective conservation of the club’s revenue, and then delivered his audited' balance sheet. This showed a deficit on the season’s operations of 4s 5d leaving the club’s capital account with a credit in liquid funds of £32 6s 7dj The election of officers .for the ensuing season resulted as follows :—Patron, Rt. The date fixed ifor the sports, subject to permission b<jlng granted by the N.A.U., was Ist January. 1923. and the charge for admission "to the grounds—for adults Is 6d. including amusements tax and for children 6d.
The running track on the sports ground having recently been improved by a working bee of club members a greater inducement to enter for the various events (to be advertised later) has thus been provided for competitors, and we hope tne efforts of the club will draw patronage from all sections of the public who are lovers of clean., healthy sport.
