The Education Department has signified its willingness to take over the school at the Orphan Home, Papatoetoe. This school was first offered to the Department some 18 months atro by the Orphan Home Trust Board, when it was found' difficult and costly to continue the education of the children in their own school. Consequently the children in the upper standards (Standards 3 to 6) have been attending the Papatoetoe School with good results during the period mentioned.
