GOLF AT MIDDLEMORE.
THE SENIOR. CHAMPIONSHIP. fThe Auckland Golf Club played; off the semi-finals of the senior championship at Middlemore last Saturday, As a result of the dry weather the course was short! and fast and in good order. Following were the results :—,H. B. Lusk beat J. B, Lusk. 3 and 2 ; G. F. Colbeck beat R. O." Gardner 1 up. In the medal handicap which was also played some good cards were returned. Scores were : E. A. Dargavilie, 77>, o—6B0 —68 ; E. Horton. 84, 12—72 ; S. C, Hodges, * 89, 16 —73 W. B. Colbeck 77, 3—74 ; C> B. Hull. 90, 16—74 A. W- Gillies, 84, 9—75 ; H. M Clarke, 97 20—77 ; A, Walker, 83 4—79 ; C. W.‘ Gillies, 95, 16—79 ; H. Horton, 87, 7—80; ;H, Henderson. 96, 16 —80,;.J. F. Ewen, 96, 15—81. The C grade tournament open to players with handicaps of'2o and over was commenced the results being H, M Clarke beat Dr Kinder, 8 and 7 J. M. Stokes beat T. DScott, 4and 3 ; Dr K. MacCormick beat R E, Fenton, 5 and 4; J. Russell beat Drj W. H. Parkes .it the 21st.
H. B. LUSK WINS CHAMPIONSHIP H. B. Lusk defeated G. F. Colbeck at Middlemore links on Saturday last over 36 hole's, the scores being 8 up and 6 to play ; and thus won the final of the club championship of the Auckland Golf Club. A good exhibition was given by both players in spite of a fairly high wind. Colbeck doing the morning round in 87 and Lusk finishing 5 .up for the lound. , The George Cup Bogey Match resulted S. C. Hodges (handicap 11) 4 up ; G, F. -Foote (6) 2 up ; Dr A. J. Friedlander (9) 2 up ; H. Horton (5) 1 up ; E. A. Dargavilie (5) 1 up; H. L-, Rees (7) 1 up ; H B. Lusk (plus 2( .1 up; A. W. Gillies (7) 1 up; H, 8., B. Colbeck 2; W. S. C. Harris 11 ; J U Blomfield! 9 ; G. R. B lorn field 11; R. G. Rainger 2; D. MacCbrmick 3, all square. The C grade tournament for players with handicaps of 29 and over resulted : N. Gibson beat J. M, Stokes., S and 2 ; C. Herman beat Dr J. C. Connolly on the 20th; H M. Clarke won by default, from W. C. Leys and! E. B. Froude ; Dr A. S. Addison won by default f*’om R. K. Binney.
