ST. JAMES’ FLOWER SHOW.

SECRETARY’S REPORT. A meeting of St, James’ Spring Flower Show held on Wednesday, the 27th inst*, at 8 p,m.. the secretary produced a raugh balance sheet, which showed a ne/t. profit of approximately £SO. It was resolved to write and thank those exhibitors who had 1 sent in exhibits from a distance. Also the Football Union for their assistance. The following report was presented by the secretary, and adopted : “>Qn Friday and Saturday, the Bth and 9th of, Septemeber„ 1922, St. James’ Presbyterian Church held their ninth annual spring flower show, in (the buildings of the A. and P. Society. Pukekohe. (The balance sheet here presented shows a net profit of £49 14s 6di, after paying all expenses up to date. Last year the net profit was £139. The deficit this year is attributed to Ithe fact that primary products have not been realising the same price as last year, also that the Primary School have been running a Queen Carnival, The blooms this year were up to anything previously shown, and we are indebted to Messrs Braithwaite, Shipherd, Rosser and Bull for the fine exhibits they presented. Without the exhibits of these four gentlemen, the flower section would undoubtedly have been very weak. We are also indebted to the Pukekohe Football Union especially the secretary (Mr W, Short) for arranging two football matches. One between the Papatoetoe Juniors and the .Pukekohe Juniors, and the other between the Waiuku Seniors and Pukekohe Seniors. We appreciated their help very much* and have to thank them for same. We a're also (indebted to Messrs Brett and Raynes for the splendid exhibition of flowers they presented* We also take this opportunity for thanking the various judges, who assisted us to make the show a success. In conclusion we wish to thank the Guild of St. James’ Church all stewards, and all ladies and gentlemen, who assisted in various ways to make the show a success. We also have to thank the ladies and gentlemen who so kindly assisted us with musical Jitems.-
