HUNUA.
On the Bth September the second annual ball of the Valley Rovers Football Club was held in the Public Hall, when a record attendance of some eighty couples were present. The M,C’s, Messrs J. Matheson, S. Wilson., and R, Cowan, assisted by an able committee, were kept very busy, but carried out their duties satisfactorily, The hall aptl cupper room was artistically decoraed with greenery* bun Sing and ftowtvs, wih the club colours intermingled. Quite a number of visitors from the other aft ilia,ted clubs were present and a most enjoyable time was spent Burnside’s orches a provided excellent modern music, and exurss were played' by Mesdames Griffiths and Gasparich and Misses Wilkins and Dow. During the evening the president (Mr J. Bradstreet, unfurled a banner that had been presented to the c!ub>, and extended ai vote of thanks to the donor. Unfortunately the caps, which bci.'jh senior and junior teams had won, were not available for presentation, as had been previously intended. The following were some of the dresses worn:— Mesidames Heald* black silk ; McConnell, grey silk ; Gaspaifch, grey crepe de chine; Laslett, white crepe de chine and georgette; Hill, black taffetta; Misses Rickards, pink crepe de chine ; Cowan, white silk ; Heald, wljite georgette; Hill, white net; Wilkins, pink net; Ross, white net ; McCall, blue sisik ; Wilson, mauve silk and net ; Matheson, cream l'ugi silk; F. HJ.’htju-lanM black silk; M. Sutherland, black velvet and lemon georgete; Hyde, white crepe de chine; Dow, cream, silk; |l’ueby, chocolate crepe de. chine ; Flanagan, white and gold lace; Sharpe, white taffetta and net; gfeen satin and black lace ; McLennan, blue crepe de chine ; McFarlane, pink silk and net.
