TUHIMATA.

On September 6th, in t:he Tuhimatta barn, Mr and Mrs S, Dufty and Mrs F* Ballard celebrated the 21st birthday of their niece, Miss Lilly Ballard , making a dual function. About 130 guegts were entertained, and Mr Dufty,, on behalf of *ihe hosts and hostess’, welcomed all in a few well chosen words and wished everyone to make an enjoyable evening together, he also carrying out the duties of M.C. in a very efficient manner. The floor was in excellent Order and dancing was indulged in until the small hours, Many items were given and thoroughly appreciated by the guests. Visitors of the respective families congregated there from as far south as Hamilton,, including several from the city. The music, which was supplied by Miss Edna and Mr Leslie Ballard, left nothing to be desired. A sumptuous and dainy supper was duly appreciated, Those 'renderingitems during the evenjng were: Mrs Sneddon* Mr Lundon, Miss T. Gal lard, Mr King, Miss H. Lundon, Mr Sharpe, Mrs Lundon, Miss C, Rill* Mr F, Ballard. Miss Kathleen Dufty was attired in white crepe de chine, prettily worked in silver, with cluster of scarlet berries and leaves at tip. Miss Lilly Ballad was also in white crepe de chine, beautifully beaded in white and silver on cqr.sage and panels. Both debutaritees received a beautiful bouquet each,, which completed their toilette. The guests brofught the entertainment to a close ve*“yi reluctantly, after voicing the evening one of the most enjoyable ever held in TuhimET-a.
