BEAUTIFYING SOCIETY.

- GARDEN COMPETITION. The Pukekohe Beautifying Society again announces its annual garden competition. This the conditions are somewhat different lo ■those of last year. Entries will- only be accepted from those who, enaged in business during . the day, devote their spare time to gardening. Size of holdings to be quarter acre consisting of flowers vegetables, etc. Entrance fee will be 2s 6d and examination and reports will take place twice yearly. Ifhe prizes wiill be £5, £2, £l. Enries will dose with the secretary. Mr Pat.tle, on September 30th, The society has divided its funds as follows : One-third each to be devoted to tree planting, street beautifying and garden competitions.
