OBITUARY.
AN OLD OOLONIST. MRS MARY REBECCA SHARP The dea'th of Mrs Mary Rebecca Sharp, ,at 'the age of 82 years* removes another of the early residents of Bombay district. The .deceased’s fdther—a native of Brum ham. near Bristol—the late Mr Joseph Wootton. came to New Zealand in 1865 in the ship Bombay. His only daughter came out some little time later, and was married to Mr George Sharp, one of the original settlers. When her husband died over 30 years ago, the late Mrs Sharp was Heft, with six children, and displayed those qualities of courage and grit, characteristic of the early colonists. She resided in the same district!, with fhe exception of short intervals, up to the time of her death. She leaves the -following family.— Mesdames Henry Rooke (Matakana) John Craig (Pukekohe), A. Best (Bombay), and E. Piggot (Buckland), and Messrs Henry G. Sharp (Fox:ton)., and W. W. Sharp (Matakana).
