The local High School played its first school representative .game last Saturday as a curtain-raiser to the teams were very fit and gave a fast, scientific exhibition. The Auckland boys had the advantage in weight, but jthe deadly tackling of the local boys broke up mpny a dangerous attack. Fr°m the) kick off! On changing over, Pukekohe who now had the measure of their opponents,, took a turn at attack. Wood and Fpllowes being •prominent in several pretty move-

Half-time sounded. Ackland 3, Pukekohe 0. From thd kick’ off in the second half Pukekohe attacked strongly but jtbe clever fielding of fhe Auckland full-back kept them orit. Play swooped rapidly from one’ end to another, both teams exerting themselves ito the utmost. Pukekohe forwards who were playing a, great game,’ headed by Stembridge, Me. Kean and Crosbie, swept, ’down field and had hard tuck in not scoring. From the ruck; K. Graham took a clever mark, which he goaled amid great excitement. The third quarter ended: Auckland 3, Pukekohe 3.
The Hast, quarter was the fastest and best of the game, both sides making - efforts »to gain the mastery. Pilkington, the Auckland five-eights, who was playing a great game, cut in, in mi cl-field to: make a great run. bub was tackled well just outside the line. Pukekohe now had the upper hand.
