KING’S COLLEGE OLD BOYS’ GRAND BALL. Owing to the uncertain conditions of the weather this function had a small, atltjsrcdance, but -the evening proved a huge success. The hall was 1 very artistically decorated with gold and maroon streamers between the Chinese lanterns, covering the electric bulbs ; lacapodia was aliso hung around the walls with nik.au leaves here find theire. The stage was nicely decorated with ribbons and two large nikaus either side and on the wall at the back 1 c;f the stage was the College banner. A model aeroplane was suspended .from Ltihe ceiling, and the draft from the propel,la kept the hall cool while the dances were on. This aeroplane was covered with gold and maroon paper and was illuminated by lights in the interior of wings, and nacelle. Another noveHty was the way the supper tickets were distributed. A large bell hung in the centre of the hail and this was covered with gold and ma.roon streamers and every lady pulled one of these and received her supper 'ticket A baliLoon dance caused much amusement and 'the prizes were won by Miss J. Walker and M(r Little. The music was provided by Wal ker’s orchestra. The ladies’ committee who so kindly took charge of the very tasty supper provided were : Mrs W. Plaint: Elack satin and lace. Mrs E. Hirst : Black,, taffeta, sequin {trimming. Miss A. McLennan: Blue satin. Miss J. Walker: Black (taffeta. Miss J. Little : Mauve crepe de chine. Miss I. Platt: Blue satin. Miss C. Finlayson : Blue s.fVtj<i, gold bice. Miss C. Wood: Lemon georgette and satin. The following were among the guesife : Mrs MclJraith: Blue crepe de chine. Mrs Crawford : Henna crepe de chine and georgette, If,rimmed with gold. Mrs Young :Blue georgette. Mrs George : Salmon pink satin, gold lace. Mrs Foot: Black satin, sequin overdress. Miss L. Wilson : Lavender satin. Miss E. Johnson : Blue satin, lemon fringe. Miss Power : Jade crepe de clime. Miss C. Shepherd: Flame georgette. Miss Schofield : Black net, uvd/ emerald green sat|in. Miss J. Wilson : White nal. Miss A. Wilson: Lemon georgette' and lace. Miss McDonald: Lemon satin. Miss M. Wood : Amethyst georgette and satin. Miss Sharp : Pale green net overdress. Miss Brady: Black beaded frock. Miss Ingram : Pink satin. Miss Mulcock : Lavender taffeta, sequin trimming. Miss McKinnon : Buttercup crepe de chine. Miss Spense : Pink silk and gold. Miss Bradbury : Emerald green s&Xin.
