LAND SALES.
AX EXCEPTION TO THE RULE. Very frequently (remarks (lie Otago Daily Times.) we hear of questiom:ale methods used by land and estate agents in order to effect sales of'properties!. It is, therefore, a pleasure to give publicity to an incident which occurred quite recently. A farmer wishing lo sell his farm authorised a local firm to find a buyer. As lie wished to live in the city his intention was to take over a suitable residence as part payment for his farm. A retired farmer tired of city life was taken out to inspect the farm. He decided to buy
it. and offered -his town residence as part payment. The farmer inspected the city property, and decided on the purchase of it. The agents, however. stated that the price asked was on the high side, and thus 'the deal fell through. The respective parties therefore did not alter their postal addresses, and the agents, -ruminating on their double lost* of commission, are consoled only by the moral aspect of the affair.
