OTAHUHU BOROUGH COUNCIL.

The erdimvy bi-monthly meeting c.f the Otahuhu Borough Council was held cn Thursday .evening last, at 7.30 p.m. There were present: The Mayor (Mr Tc.dd). Councillors Bra,clv. Clemeuts, Hall Nicholls,. Shephard and Whiteley. and. the Town Clerk (Mr Wood). Apologies were received for the unavoidable- absence of Councillors Dinnison and Preston. A -ip-jter was received from Messsr Andrew and Andrew drawing attention to the state >of the road in front of their cart entrance. Cr Halil proposed that the matter be referred Ito fhe Works Committee for a report, and the proposal was seconded by Cr Clements and cartied,

Messrs R. and W. HeMaby, Ltd., wrote stating 'the minimum quantity of wafer per day required by them, in the event of tihe Council deciding to supply their works w’T-h watdr. The 1-eit?,? was received.

The Director General of Agriculture whole forwarding an Order in Council declaring Japanese Wineberry to be a noxious weed within the meaning elf the third schedule of the Noxious Weeds Act. It was decided to take no action in regard to the matter at present, the Council 'having no knowledge of the»re being any of this weed in the borough. E r Byrne, licensed surveyor Otahuhu. submitted a plan of a proposed sub-division of Mrs M. A. Doyle’s property in Mangoiie Roacl, fur approval of the Council- It was decided to approve of the plan. Cr Clements, -as chairman of the Works Committee* repojlted >b !a f the committee had considered the plan of the proposed subdivision of Miss H. Dam’s property in Panmure Road and Church Street and recommended the Council to approve same. line report was adopted. In terms of notice published m the newspapers, Cr. Clements proposed the formal resolution striking the rates for the year ending 31st March. 1923. and the motion was seconded by Cr. Shepherd and carried. Cr. Cr Shepherd said thafc "thiere v/ij.-e some bad pctlioltes- in Walmsley Road and the matter was referred to the Works Committee for attention. Cr Whiteley proposed that the Works Committee furnish the Council with information as to the cost of a stone crusher to work in the Council’s quarry and; the proposal was seconded bv Cr. Nicholls and carried.
