The first annual meeting of the Buckland Bowling Club wlas he'ld in the social rooim of khe Public Hall on Tuesday evening ladt. 25th July. Tice re was a large attendance of rnemhdrs, .and Mr W. Jefferies occupied the chair. Rules of the club as drawn up by the sub-committee we,re adopted. The members have just reason to he proud of the progress made since the ctubj’s inception. Trees have been removed, ‘tjhe ground levelled, and /a) green of 8 fo.nnerljy was a wild waslte is now a picture of beauty, reflecting credit to all those who so kindly gave their time and labour in the formation c;f 'this delightful pleasure ground in Bucldand. With a continuance of such loyal co-operation by the members, the , future success ~f the BowFy.r and Croquet Club is assured. Financially the club is in a merit satisfactory position. and with the sale of work as taken m hand by lady friends (the revenue should be further augumeqted. The green is looking most promising, and should be in good .order ready fok opening on or aboilf the second week in October.
