PAKURANGA HUNT CLUB.
fHEET AT MAWGERE POUND. A LONG CHASE AND A KILL. The meet of the Pakuranga Hunt Club on Saturday, June 24th, was at the Found, Mangere. From the meet hounds were taken down and east off on Mr Bickeifton Fisher’s property, where one or two short runs resulted, fThen they were taken on to Mr Peacock’s farm, and a strong hare was put up near the foreshore at Pukaki. It ran back through Mr Peacock’s, into Mr English’s, then on to Mr Nirkbride’s, through Mr Henwood’s and into Mr Fisher’s. It ran [for fully an hour and covered three or four miles, being, finally run to earth by Mr Fisher’s gdte —a splendid chase. Big hedges and saplings and numerous wire fences were negotiated, frequent spills occurring, but nobody sustaining injury. There were about sixty followers, including the master (Mr H. Bullock) on Gunner: the huntsman on Captain; Mr E. Ward (whip) on Digger; Mr B. PI. Bishop on Paddy; Dr Eisdell Moore on Viking: Mr J. Buchanan on Dan; Mrs S. White on Nipper; Mr Lh B. Lloyd on Paddy; Mr C. Allen on Salvaboy; three Messrs Wyllie : Mr F. A. Friioe on Eangamxi; Mr H. Milington onGay Boy; Mr O'. Phillips on a bjl'ack; Mr B. Johnstone on a by; Mr McCallum from Rama Rama, on Big Ben; Mf Tooman, from Rama Rama, on a bay; Martin on Yanky; Mr Egan on black; Mr Barry on a bay; Mr Speedy on Saeeda; Mr Rainger on Bezant; Mrs Brodie on Hector; Miss Hank’in on Roddy; Mr F. McDonald on •'•elpie; Mr Lftchfie) on a bay; Miss Mavis Whitney on Giplay; Miss Muriel Whitney on Bunkum; Mpss M.
