PAPAKURA PROGRESSIVE LEAGUE.
The town of Papakura, which is fast becoming one of the most up-to-date on the line between Auckland and Hamilton has instituted a .Progressive League. The business community warmly support this move arf!| it is fair to ask that the residents give the League more encouragement. Papakura, hike Pukekohe and other towns, to grow must keep as much money Circulating within (its own radius as possible. There is a tendency on the part of the Papakura public to spend too much in the city. This may be quite satisfactory to Auckland and help it build and maintain its parks, gardens and wharves, but it will keep Papakura stagnating instead of progressing. The Progressive League is a live bcjdjy and deserves every possible support and encouragement. Now is the time to fo:m the town for future growth, to plan its reserves and plant its streets with trees and make the place attractive. We congratulate the town of Papakura upon its policy and the business men upon their enterprise an)d| commend the merits of the 'Progress ve League to every inhabitant.
