PAPAKURA TOWN BOARD.

ORDINARY MEETING. At the last ordinary meeting of the Papakura Town Board there were rpesent Messrs S, Evans (chairman), J. R. Wilson, E. D. McLeennan, P. J. Parker, D. Weir, D. Campbell, and tne clerk (Mr A. L. Cooper). Mr H. Markwisk waited on the Board with a request to tar and kerb the footpath in front of his shops.—The request was granted.

Mr C D. Earl waited, on the Board in connection with the nuisanaee caused by the drainage ofw ater on to his premises through the approach to the overhead traffic bridge across the railway line. —On the motion of Messrs Campbell and Parker, it was decided that the Railway Department be asked to raise and grade the footpath from Hawthorn’s and Munro‘s shop to the approach to the overhead traffic bridge. On the motion of Messrs Weir and McLennan, it was agreed to employ a man to clean the cemetery of fern, etc.

With regard to a further request from Mr W. Richardson that Green Street be attended to, Mr Weir moved and Mr Wilson seconded that the letter be received, that Mr Richardson be thanked for past favours, and informed that under present conditions the Board cannot possibly do the work he desires.

Mr J. E. Elliott wrote asking if the Golf Club could remove spoil from the old Wairoa Road for the purpose of improving the links. — Permission was granted, Mr McLennan to supervise the work and see that the road is left in a proper condition.

An application was received from Mr D). B. Stewart for an entrance to his property.—Granted. Complaints were received that the crek through the Settlement reeded clearing. It was decided to employ a person to do the work.

It was decided that all work as far as the waterworks gang is concerned, should cease as soon as the connections at Wairoa Road to Onslow Road and the filling of trenches are completed.
