PAPAKURA NOTES.
The annual meeting - of the Papakura Ladies’ Golf Club was held on March 22nd at Miss Johnson’s rooms:.
The secretary reported the club to be in a flourishing - condition with a credit balance in hand and. a large membership. A very handsome gift has been presented for competition, given by Mrs Pirie, consisting of half a dozen solid silver teaspoons.
Officers were elected for the coming season as follows: President, Mrs D. W. Jones ; vice-presidents, Mrs E. D, McLennan and Mrs At R. McLennan ; ladies’ captain, Mrs Harold Walters ; secretary, Mrs Rocke ; treasurer, Miss Annie McLennan; committee, Mrs Crawford, Misses Johnson, Spence, Harris and Wood. The ladies’ committee are to meet the men’s committee at an early date to arrange the opening day. The meeting concluded with a hearty vote of thanks to Miss Johnson for the use of her rooms.
Good progress is being made with the laying of pipes, etc., in connection with Papakura’s water supply It is expected that the water will be turned on within C months.
