BILLIARDS AND SNOOKER.

INTER-LODGE MATCH. EXCELSIOR DEFEATS STAR OF WAIUKU. Un Wednesday night a team of snooker and billiard players from the Excelsior Lodge, Pukekohe, journeyed to Waiuku to try conclusions with representatives of |the Star of Waiuku Lodge. The visitors spent a tnoroughly enjoyable evening, feeing hospitably entertained by ,the home Lodge. Pukekohe succeeded in carrying off the honours as far as snooker is concerned, but Waiuku proved “too hot” with respect to billiards. The visitors won the snooker by 108 points, while Waiuku triumphed in billiards by 107 points, jruKeKone thus winning on the aggregate by a single point. After (the match the visitsors were entertained at supper in Arkle’s tea rooms, full justice being done to the spread. Bros. Duncan, Jones and Brown, on uenaii or Pukekohe, returned thanks ana ax xne same time invited Waiuku to Pukekohe for a return match. Bros. CL Holmes and H. Miller responded, accepting the invitation, so that in a short time the return match will take place The speakers pointed out that such functions tended to cement the friendship between the two Lodges. Cheers were given for the respective Lodges, and (the visitors departed for Pukekohe, .after spending a highly enjoyable and successful evening.
