Mf H. J. Wily, son of Mr Wily, of Buckland, won the walking championship at the big sports meeting in Auckland on Saturday, in which the South Africans competed.
Mr J. T. Meiklejohn, who for the past six yeai;s has been headmaster of Pukekohe East School, recently resigned on account of ill health., It is an established fact (that his resignation took place while on holidays, and when he was not cognizant of the late trouble among the householders and parents of the district, as mentioned in a recent issue of the Times.
