PROPOSED RAILWAY TIMETABLE ALTERATION.
5.7 P.M. TRAIN AUCKLAND-PAPA-TOETOE. TO RUN TO PAPAKURA. SUGGESTED TRIAL. As a result of the interview with the Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. W. F, Massey, by a deputation from the Town Boarfd consisting of Messrs E. S. Pegler and Geo. Smith, concerning a proposed alteration in the railway time-table between Auckland and Papakura. suggesting that the 5.7 p.m. train Auckland-Papatoetoe be continued to Papakura, the Prime Minister wroite to the deputation as follows : “With reference to the interview which you had with me when I was in Auckland recently, during which you urged that the train leaving Auckland at 5.7 p.m. for Papatoetoe should run to Papakura, I now have pleasure in informing you that I am advised by the Acting Minister of Railways th-af arrangements have already been made to give a trial to the suggestion, and the new running will be brought into operation at an early date.”
