We are informed that the Chamber has communicated witih Mr Wily asking him to convey their invitation to such local bodies in Franklin County as are deemed to be interested. We understand that the Mercer, PukeEast, West Pukekohe, Waiuku and Waipipi Ridings of the County, the Aka Aka and Otaua Drainage Boards and the Tuakau Town Board will each be invited to send a delegate. <

A very enjoyable evening was held in the Oddfellows’ Hail on Friday, 9th December, under the auspices of Mrs J. Spence. The event was the end of her session for the season. Despite the unfavourable weather tlier-; was a large gathering, who greatly enjoyed songs rendered by Mr Fellows and Master Janies Hooper, from Puni, and Miss Joyce Wliytehead, from Buckland. There was also a grand exhibition of Highland dancing and Irish jigs by the pupils of Mrs Spence, of which great credit must be given to her for the efficient way she has trained them. Over seventy couples took the floor and danced well past midnight. Mr A. Duke acted as M.C. Music was supplied by Mis,s Webb and Mr Deed.
