ANZAC CUP MATCH'.

PUKEKOHE V. WEST END'.

WIN FOR THE FORMER,

On Saturday six rinks, represent-' ing the West End Bowling Cub, visited Pukekohe to try conclusions with the local cDub. Three of the rinks unsuccessfully defended the Anzac Cup, a trophy donated by enthusiac-. tic bowlers for competition betweenthe two clubs, and' which up to Sgt-v , dav was held by the visitors. The president of the home clulijp (Mr Jas. Roulston) extended a heartyff welcome to the visitors, and hoped they would spend an enjoyable afternoon’s play. The games were then proceeded with. Results are as folows, Pukekohe names first:—

Ingpen, Buchan, Keith, Armstrong 18, v. Cornwal. Cook, Worsfold, Bell 17. This was a close game through out. The score on the 20th head was--17 all. When the skips went down from The head, Bell held two. Armstrong went wide with his first bowl and Bell did not alter the head. Armstrong then drew a beautiful short which Bell could not remove;. Armstrong won by one point, , Waters, Crisp, Adams, Brown 39, ( v. McKeown, Bennett, Aitchison, Lea- / tliam 20.

The . score on the fiflth head was five all. Leatham then drew away, and on the 13th head Leatham.-was 10 up. The next five heads were all in favour of Brown. He got 3 fours and 2 threes in succession, making the score on the 18th head Brown Leatham 18. Brown got four on -fhe 21st, making his score 30, while Leatham scored 2 in 8 heads.

Littlejohn, J. Roulston, CribbleDune. Roulston 22, v. Andrews, W> Cox, Maher 18. This was another close gatoe. The score on the 17th head was 16 all. Roulston then •got ! a five and a one, and on tire 19thhead ■was 6 .up. Maher got 2 on the 20th bolt as the Cup war. lost, the last bead was not played. • .» The Cup totals are: Pukekohe 70, West End 55. INTER-CLUB GAMES. Wright, Butler, Bockett, Clarke 19,. v. Bowring, McConnell, Urqubart, r Noton 16; Bonner* sen., W. Blake,., Dave. Roulston, R. Fitness 17, v. Cole, Lock, Murray, Hosking 23 ; Bromwich, Hewitt, Perkins, Tonkjir 17, v. Peat, Hastings, White, Whtterr 21.

The Totals are : Pukekohe 53 ; West End 62. ";. Grand total: Pukekohe 123, West End 117. After the match, Mr Bell, on behalf of the West End Club, congratulated Pukekohe on its win, and handed the cup over. , Mr Jas. Roulston briefly replied.
