That the back yards of business premises in Pukekohe are not all they shoulidl he was a subject of discussion at last night’s meeting of the Pukekohe Chamber of Commerce. One business man averred that the inspector simply glances around the premises of one or two of the largest concerns and doesnt trouble about many of the smaller premises. Several members quoted instances of fearful back yards right in King Street, The condition of some, if descriptions were correct, must be absolute bi ceding grounds for disease. The Chamber instructed its secrotary to write immediately to the Health Department demanding, m the interests of public health, that the King Street back yards be inspected regularly and carefully, and that in future not one here or there be picked outj, but that the whole street be inspected in a systematic manner.
