SILVER WEDDING.
MR AND MRS E. BEAGLEY. The solitude of Tobin Street was rudely disturbed _ on Thursday night by an enthusiastic band of local residents, who, to the beat of numerous tin cans and other joyous noises, made a raid on residence of Mr and Mrs Beagley, the cause of all the rejoicing being the twenjty-fiffh anniversary of the marriage of this popular couple. Amidst a chorus of sincere congratulations, the guests entered the house, being received by Mr and Mijs Beagley, who gave one the impression that chey were celebrating their twenty-fifth birthday instead of their wedding anniversary. During the evening games were indulged in, and songs were rendered by Misses Fitness, Beagley and Butler, 'find Mr C. H. Marcroft. MrC. Maxwell played the accompaniments. A splendid supped was provided, and after several toasts had been honoured cheery for jfche host and hostess were given, the party sed, everyone being pleased with having taken part in such a joyous; occasion.
