UNIMPROVED VALUES POLL. THE PROPOSAL DEFEATED. A poll of /the ratepayers of Manurewa was held on Saturday on a proposal to adopt the system, of rating property in the town district on the unimproved value. The proposal was lost. A total of 176 votes out of 377 on the roll were cas|c, the majority against the proposal being 42. Excluding two informal votes, the figures were For the proposal 66 Against the proposal 108 Majority againist i 42 Mr H. Kay was the returning officer.
