BY FOUR RUNS., The cricket season as far aS Franklin is concerned was opened on Saturday last, when Pukekohe eleven journeyed to Glenbrook to meet the home team. After an exciting game Glenbrook won by (the narrow margin of four runs. The scores were:— ■ PUKEKOHE.

“WARIN” CUP COMPETITIONS. MAUKU; V*. WAIUKU. The Franklin Cridkqt Association commenced the season on Saturday last, when the above mentioned teams me*t in Mr Henry’s paddock at Patur rrtahoe The match resulted in a win for Mauku f by 24 runs, only one winnings each being played owing to the start being late. The form on either side left a lot to be desired, especially the home team, whose fielding will have to improve before they inflict many defeats ;on jthe opposing side.
