WEDDING BELLS.
LAWRIE—SEARS. A quiet but pretty wedding was solemnised at St. Andrew’s Church, Pukekohe, yesterday, the Rev. J. P. Cowie officiating, when Mr Leonard Godfrey Lawrie, son of Mr snd Mrs C. K. Lawrie, of Pukekohe, was united in the holy bonds of matrimony to Miss Winifred Lena Sears, daughter of Mr (and Mrs Alfred Sears, of Pukekohe. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked charming, attired in a gown of white silk, beaded with crystal beads. She also wore the orthodox veil and orange blossoms, and carried a handsome bouquet. Miss Peggy Witt- acted as bridesmaid, and wore a dress of primrose crepe de chine, with touches of black and blue, and a primrose sash. She also carried a handsome bouquet. Mr C. K. Lawrie, jun., acted as bes,t man. After the ceremony a large number of guests partook of a sumptluous wedding repast at the Carnival tea rooms, when the usual toasts were honoured. Mr and Mrs Lawrie, jun., subsequently left by (the Thames express for Auckland, eh route to their home rjt Kaitia, where Mr Lawrie recently bought an aerated water factory. Until two ax'onths ago he was in business in Pukekohe in conjunction with Mr Sears. Presents were handsome ancl numerous, which testified to the popularity of the young couple.
