OBITUARY.
LATE fflß ROBT. REID. Another of the “old hands” has passed to his long rest in the person of Mr Robert Reid, who died at the Old Men’s Home, Hamilton, on Thursday, 27th October last. “Bob’s” face was a very familiar one round Tuakau, where he lived for the last 20 years continuously. In the earlier days he also lived there, but went to Waiuku for a period, bu,t he drifted back to the old spot, where he lived until two years ago, when old age and failing health compelled him to accept a home in the above institution. Everyone had a kindly word for “Bob,” but although he made friendh with all he appears to have made a confident of none, for no one seems to know who his relations are,, or if he had any. He arrived in New Zealand from Aberdeen, Scotland, in. the year 1864, and was 88 .years of age at the time of his death.
