The Pukekohe Lawn Tennis Club advertises its official opening day for to-morrow (sth) at 3 o’clock. Messrs Beatty and Marshall state they are not buying pigs until further notice. This is the practice generally followed on occasions of this kind. Since the War Memorial Committee meeting on Monday evening, the sum of £B7 18s 6d has been collected iv> acdual cash or definite promises. This leaves £3O only, which it is necessary to raise before Sunday to open the .Memorial Gate free from debt. Record of rainfall as registered at •Victoria Avenue, Waiuku, during October, 1921 : Rain fell on 22 days, the total fall being 6.32 inches.
