GUN CLUB.
The Waiuku boys liad a very successful shoot on Thursday afternoon last, when a valuable trophy was competed for by the local members, (local members include Putcekone shooters). Five shooters tied for the trophy with 9 kills out of ten, the shooting being excellent. In the shoot off the number was quickly reduced to two, viz., J. Faucett, of Pukekohe, and Chas. Lowe, of Waiuku. These two shot 11 bi.rds in succession, Faucett missing his twelfth bird. Lowe, who is quite a boy, winning the trophy on his twelfth bird. A car load of shooters ' were present from Auckland, including the redoubtable John Mains, There were also six shooters from Pukekohe. Several sweepstakes were also held, and the shooting all round was of a very high order. Considerable interest is being taken by Pukekohe shooters, who are now desirous of re-forming the Pukekohe Gun Club. It is high time that this institution was got under '-.weigh, especially as ammunition is now selling at a reduced price. A numbep of our Pukekohe shooters intend competing at Waiuku on October 3rd for the £SO shoqft.
