DISTRICT NEWS.
BOMBAY, *b . y Maters in connection with the Bomhay War Memorial are again on the move. After a long delay in procuring plans, etc., the management committee have now left a contract for the excavation of the football ground and tennis club courts to Mr F. A. Brooks, of Papatoetoe, who will be starting in about a weeks time. It is intended to hold a bazaar in the early summer, and for months past the ladies of Bombay have been working- at sewing, fancy work, etc., and vj have worked up some £4O worth of raw material. On Wednesday next a gift afternoon and evening is being arranged by the ladies in connection with the bazaar scheme.

MANUKAU LAWN TENNIS ASSOCIATION.
The annual general meeting of the Manukau Lawn Tennis Association •was held at the hall, Ardmore, off the 6th inqfc, Present : AIL delegates except from Manurewa. The minutes of the last annual meeting were read and confirmed. The following officers were appointed, subject to their consent :-—Patron, Sir F. W. Lang, M.P.; president, Mr A. D. Bell; vice-presidents, all Club presidens ; auditor, Mr Alfred Willis; hon, secretary and treasurer, Mr Cyril Jephson. It was decided to affiliate with the Auckland Lawn Tennis Association. Copies of the new revised rules were direqted to be sent to the secretary of each club, and notices to valious officers were to be be sent. The .usual thanks to the chair concluded the meeting. We hqar that the Papakura Tennis Club has had its new courts refaced, with, tar and sand, and that they are going to be in much favour _ (this year, and a large membership is expected. "•
