“The Greater Claim,” a Metro special, starring adorable Alice Lake, comes to the Strand Theatre to-night. This story wil« be welcomed by the thousands who know Alice Lake’s splendid achievements. She plays the part of Mary Smith, the Follies’ beauty, married by young and wealthy “Cuck” Everard. The latter is kidnapped, and shipped to sea, and Mary takes to Broadway cabaret life. Tnen her child, through strange circumstances, becomes - adopted . into its rrandfather’s home, where it proves thee means of reconciliation. The supporting cast includes Jack Dougherty, Edward Cecil, De Witt Jennings, Florence Gilbert and Lcnore Lynard. Picture lovers should see this masterpiece. It’s goocj!

SOLE BROS.’ CIRCUS AMD , MENAGERIE.

The public of Pukekohe will be able to see the biggest show that nas ever toured the country, employing waggons as a means of transport. Sole Bros., are able to take their. circus and menagerie into towns .hitherto debarred from this ever welcome form of entertainment. An outstanding sensation is the “Circle of Death” stunt, in which two men do a death-defying act on motor cymes in mid-air. Then there are the oole sisters in an aeroplane act, a troupe of acrobats in remarkable turns, clowns as clever as they are funny, and a wonderful dog, Whisky, who takes a jump of 15ft 9 inches. Tueie is also a full menagerie to complete the interest. The show takes place in Mr J. Ron's ton's paddock, opposite the Horse Bazaar to-morrow and Thursday next.
