FRANKLIN LICENSING COMMITTEE.

QUARTERLY MEETING. The quarterly meeting of the Franklin Licensing Committee was lield on Thursday last, when there were present: Messsrs E. W- Burton, 5. (chairman), C. KL. Lawrie, Dynes Fulton and E. D. McLennan. Prior to the commencement of the ordinary business, the chairanm welMr E. i>. McLennan (Papakura), who had been appointed by the GovernorGeneral to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Mr D. W. Jones. The police reported that necessary i epairs, recommended at the annual meeting of the committee, to be effected at Patumahoe, Tuakau, and. Drury Hotels, had been carried out. BOMBAY. The annual meeting of the Bombay Tennis Club was held on September 6. There was a good attendance of members. The opening day was fixed for October 26. It was decided to bold a euchre party and dance on Wedriesdav, Seotember 21, in the Bombay Hall. 'The following officers •were elected for the ensuing year President, Mr F. R. S.
