ADVERTISING PUKEKOHE.

The suggestion made by the secretary of the local Chamber of Commerce- that a ‘‘buy in Pukekohc, week” be instituted, is a step in the: right direction, it pays to advertise! a town or a district just as it pays; to advertise articles of every-day use. The idea briefly is that business man in Pukekohe. who is interested, will make special efforts to dress his windows and display the best goods during that week. _ Also the Borough Council would assist in showing visitors about the town and advertise its cheap rates, its good water supply, its electric supply, and so forth, to induce new settlers. The local iand agents would, of course, go in for big displays and mobilise their cars for special tours round the Gorou ,T h with the same object in view.

Every school child and citizen would be educated to “boost Pukekohe” during that special week. The whole scheme requires a good deal of organising and planning, but properly carried out it is the greatest force we know of for pushing a district ahead and making it knolvn outside the confines of its radius. Of course, in a scheme of this kind the local press is called upon to play a heavy part, biit we wish to assure all interested that as far as lies in our power we will do what we can to foster and further “Boost Pukekohe Week.*'
