PAKURANGA HUNT CLUB.

GREAT DAY AT ft Aft! ARAM A, TWO KILLS RESULT. ONE MEMORABLE RUN. HOUNDS ON TOP OF FORM. O, again for a taste of that day’s sport, That splendid chase, and the kill, As we galloped o’er atreamland and grassy mead, Away went the hounds with a light good will. There was only one opinion ot the day’s sport at Ramarama when huntsmen met there last Saturday- week—that was expressed in (the feeling of entire satisfaction; and when this appears in print many a resident of the district for miles around will still be recalling the pleasant reminiscences and impressions which were inseparably associated with the oulting. Members of the Pakuranga Hunt Club went up by train and hcunds were fresh and eager. Everything combined to make the hunting thoroughly enjoyable. Hounds were cast off on Mr D. Lynch’s property at 11.30 am. and a hare was soon found. • Away she went with the hounds in full cry, crossing the whole length of Mr Lynch’s farm, thence down to the hall, across the road and into Mr Sharp’s, through the propertiets of Messrs Browny Thomas, Hartness, Pulman, Reed, Walton, Bentley, Fox, and Rowley’s, and then back again through Mr Lynch’s, through Mr Cadr.ess’ and Mr Reid's, and was finally bowled over in Mr Sharp’s farm. It was a splendid run. A stouter hare or a fleeter pack of hounds it would he hard to find. There were over 50 followers and sometimes the hounds ran clear away from them. Eager enthusiasts could be seen dotted over the country for about two or three miles. Spills were numerous, but they were all taken with a smile and “better luck next time” was the general remark as some kind-hearted brother helped the fallen one to arise; and off they ..would go apparently none the worse with having touched Mother Etrth, Another Kill. Another good smart run followed. Only six hounds followed the hunted hare, which ran through Mr Sharp’s, along the road, back again into Mr Sharp’s, and was finally killed in MiBrown’s bush. There were only four followers in at the death.. They were: Messrs J. Garboiina, Purcell, J. George and B. H. Bishop. Prominent Riders. Hares were plentiful and the hounds A fuff of running. Good scent aided them sonsiderably. At two o’clock in the afternoon.t an adjournment was made to the hall, when the Ladies’ ■ Committee, consisting of Mesdames - Fox, Clarke, Dale, Sharp, and Misses Fleming and Brown, provided tea for the visitors. AIL were glad to see Mrs Sharp well again after her recent accident. At table spread there was a plenteous supply of good things to which all were welcomed. Mr. R. D. Neil, acting - field master of the club, tendered thanks on behalf of his fellow members, and gave the welcome news that Mr H. Bullock \\ ebster, the master, had recovered from his late severe illness, and hoped soon to be out in charge of the hounds again. Mr Dan Lynch, on behalf of the farmers, also spoke. It was regretted that owing to the illness in the family of the local actingl master, Mr Holmes, that member was absent. Messrs T. Dufty and J. Garbolina were acting local masters for the day. They, with the following riders, were well to the front all the time: Misses Winnie Millington and Martin, Messrs H. Dale, Townsend (2), McCallum, Chas. Hosking (iaWuku). J. Mitchie, W. Purcell, J. Peate, S. McKay, Allen, and the members representative of the Pakuranga Hunt Club, Messrs R. D. Neal (act-ing-master), Ben Myers, H. Millington, Phillips, P. H. Bishop, Wvllie (2), and Martin.
