BUCKLAND SCHOOL.

2 Sir,—ln reply to Mr Neal’s letter, T would just like to remind him that when he was just chairman of a nonexistent School Committee he condescended to reply to “Morepork.” But, now, when he has • rose to the giddy height of School Commissioner, he must have my correct name and address and know how long my father and mother were married before I was born before he will lower himself to reply. I am sorry, but I decline to give that bit of information, All the same, notwithstanding', Mr Neal promised the late School Committee he would not accept the honour of Commissioner for Buckland school. I must congratulate him on becoming Commissioner Neal. It sounds very nice, but I think it is like the old lady’s soup, when you know all about it, there is nothing to get a swelled head over and, further, I think he would have been far better .to have left the title for someone else and stick to plain corn beef and carrots and not bothered chasing after the tongues of nightingales’. But now, as he has it all to himself, I trust he will make a dtir. Notwithstanding I still (think, Mr Editor, that Mr Neal is like a sucking heap, all his troubles are to come.—l am, etc., MOREPORK,

Sir, —In reply to “A Buckland Schoolbo.v,” I wish to say that I have ,not /the slightest wish to cast reflections on the Buckland schoolboys. And as for him always saluting his teacher, I am very pleased to hear him say so, providing he gives the correct salute. What I said was the Buckland schoolboys never thought it their duty to touch their cap to their master, not their teacher, when they meet him on the street. But I will promise ‘‘Schoolboy” that I will take particular notice and if I And that it is the custom with the boys I will apologise through this paper.— I am etc., MOREPORK,
