LOCAL AND GENERAL.
The report of the Tuakau Town Board has been held over until Tuesday, as have also several letters for the correspondence column.
The Rev. J. R. Reid, one of the best known clergymen of the Presbyterian Church in Canada and Aemrica, is at present on a visit to New Zealand. Mr Reid has travelled widejy, and is an eloquent preacher. He wil conduct services throughout the Presbyterian charge ou Sunday next.
That Pukekohe is advancing rapidly as a manufacturing centre is made apparent by such instances as the following: Messrs Cooper and Curd have just despatched, during the past twelve days, a waggon to Waharoa, another to Walton, and a third to Okorarie. That orders should come from so far afield shows that this firm, at anyrate is out to build up a big industry, which will employ many hands and add to the prosperity of the town.
