PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.
ST JOHN’S/' PAPATGETOE. THE ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting of St John's Presbyterian Church, Papatoetoe,.was held last week, the minister (Rev, A. E. Porter) occupying the chair. There Was a large attendance of parishioners. The annual report and accounts showed that all the activities of the church were in a very hc-althy condition, and substantial progress had been made during the year. The balance-sheet revealed a gross income of £1342, 'and the credit balances of the various funds amounted to £Bl ; £37 more than last year . had been received in ordinary Sunday collections ; the church building fund now stood a'U a total of £3942. The hope was expressed that condiUci.s would be such as to permit of starting the new church during the vein. Ladies had been very active in their work for the church, and the success of the various mission schemes, the building fund and the furnishing of the neve class-room's was largely due to their endeavours. There were a considerable number of name;: of communicant members on tire roll, and the success of th£ Sunday School was particularly gratifying. dhe Board of Management was elected as follows :—Messrs Dong, Wallace, Sim, Crago and Murray. Miss Hamilton, whose term of office had expired, was unanimously re-elected, and Mi H. Hall was appointed auditor for another year. The Rev. 3. D. McKenzie delivered an address on the spiritual, educational and economic ideals of the church, which proved highly enlightening. Refreshments were dispensed by the ladies.
