OBITUARY.
MRS JOHANN SCHLAEPFER, A very well-known and well-re-spected resident 'of this district passed away at “Rawhiti” private hospital, Auckland, on Thursday last, in the person of Mrs J. Schlaepfer. The deceased lady came to this district from Switzerland in 1886, her maidefc name being Miss Grob. She married Mr Schlaepfer in 1888, and has resided here ever since. About seven years ago she underwent a very difficult operation, which, though successful at the time, left a weakness, which ultimately caused her death.
The late Mrs Schlaepfer was of a very unassuming and retired nature, who had endeared herself to many, and who was always willing to assist in any acts of kindness. She leaves a husband'* and four sons —John, Robert, Arnold and Walter, to mourn their sacl loss, all of whom were present at her passing.
The deefcased was interred in the Pukekohe Cemetery on Friday last, the cortege being folldwed by a very large number of sympathisers. The Prime Minister (the Right Hon. W. F. Massey) cabled out an-expression of sympathy from himself and Mrs Massey, in addition the sincere sympathy of the district is extended to the husband and family in their bereavement (
