“SEALED HEARTS.”
Eugene O’Brien in “Sealed Hearts.” his latest Selznick picture comes to you not as an unknown quantity but as a star tried and tested and found not wanting. For years Eugene O’Brien has been before the theatregoing public and to-day he is hailed everywhere as the idol of the screen. His successes of the past have been so frequent and impressive that the public is ever eager for anything in which he is to appear. The story of “Sealed Hearts” was originally written by Edmund Gouldihg and adapted to the screen by the noted dramatist, Eugene Walter. It embodies all those elements that have made for , success in other productions. ; Deep heart-interest, power and coherence of plot, lavish settings and beautiful art effects, brilliancy of acting and perfection in direction are all incorporated in a magnificent production. It is a tense and stirring story of a man, a woman and another man—father, son and wife-mother —told in such a different way as to make it one of the dramatic gems of. the season. “ SOCIAL AMBITION.” “Social ''AmbiticttC” - the feature now j? Greening at Tttf s- a splendid lesson in Sorely devotion. How one ' woman. Whose ruling thought ir. life is society and its hollow shams, will seek to discard her now useless husband, when his fortune at her ruthless hands dwindled away, and how anothei clings to him through the keenest of diversity, is graphically brought out in a series of stirring scenes. The stellar honours are in the capable hands of Howard Hickman, perhaps better known as his wife’s (Bessie Barriscale’s) director, and Rhea Mitchell.. The latter’s wistful beauty lends an added charm to her convincing portrayal.
