£By “Mid Iron.”) On Saturday, 2nd inst v a team from the Papakura Golf Club played a Pukekohe team at Pukekohe, the match resulting in a win for Pukekohe by S points to 7. On arrival at the links the visitors were met by the members of the local club and the president (Mr Jas. Roulston.
During the luncheon adjournment Mr Roulston, in welcoming the, player from Papakura pointed out the great benefits derived from inter-club matches and said he hoped that a very close game would i*esult on this occasipn. Mr Crawford, captain of the Papakura Club, suitably responded . • As two matches have now been played this season and both clubs have won one match, great interest is being taken in the deciding match which will be played at Papakura two or three" weeks hence.
The following are the detailed results of Saturday's match, Pukekohe players being mentioned first. Ladies.— Mrs. Campbell Srriitb beat Miss Woods; 7 up and 6 to play, Mrs Motion beat Miss Spence 7 up and 6 to play] Miss Clarke and Mrs Waiters all square, Mrs Johns lost to Miss McLennan 7 down, and 6 to play, Miss Wily'and Mrs Elliott all square. Miss McKenzie lost to Miss Walker 2 down, Mips Allan dost to Miss Johnson 5 down and 3 to play.
Men.—L. Bayly Jost to Meikle 4 down and 3 to play, W, ' Johns beat Willis 8 up and 7 to play, B. Hopkins lost to Crawford 3 down and 1 to play, Dr Campbell Smith beat Reader 5 up and -.3 to-pLpy, E. Clarke lost to Elliott 1 down, Jas! Roulston beat Cooper 9 qp and 7 to. play, H. Pattle beat Jephson 2 up. Chas Bonner beat McLennan 4 up and 3 to play.
