Permission Obtained.
The Secretary, of the Treasury, in reply to the Council’s letter, stated that permission was granted the Council to pay interest on its bank overdraft at a rate not exceeding 7 per cen t.—Received.
'f Works Committee Report Jr*
1 The Works Committee reported with regard to the rubbish tip on Frapkiin Road that it had decided to erect two notice boards, compelling rubbish to be tipped behind the notices, ah offenders to be' prosecuted. Regarding Mr W. H. Fausett’s application for two crossings to his factory in Harris Street, the committee recommended that only one crossing be provided. ' A hack for the ranger had not yet been acquired, the committee not being able to procure one. The committee had decided to lound op and repair the footpath in Roulston Avenue past the bowling green. l 3?he report was adopted.
Roose’s Bush.
With regard to the above, it was decided to inform the owner, Mr E. Roose, that the Council intended to take up the block of land. The Finance Committee was instructed to moke the necessary arrangements.
Road to Subway.
In answer to the Mayor, it was stated, that a survey had been made o f the proposed road through Messrs H Dell’s and Roulston Bros’, property leading to the subway. The Mayor reported that when the assistant district engineer of railways Pukekohe, he asked what steps the Council was taking in the matter. The Mayor said lie informed him verbally of what was being done. On his motion the clerk was instructed to write to the engineer giving the full details of what was being dene
