BOMBAY On Wednesday, loth inst, the Papakv.ra Musical Society, under the conductorship of Mr T Seaton, presented one of the best musical programmes ever heartt in the Bombay Hall and those, who .did not attend (there being only about 50 present) missed a musical treat of rare excellence. Concert and Social. •f In spite of.the fact that the rain was coming down in great drivingshowers, between 7 and 8 o’clock on Tuesday evening last a good crowd of people assembled in the Bombay Hall, the attraction being a concert and social in aid of the funds of St. Peter’s Church- A band of willing workers had transformed our lather bare hall into a place of beauty with the aid of greenery, flags, etc. The greater portion of. the programme was of tableaux and reflected great credit on those responsible for the splendid effects obtained, and should be very gratifying to the company of; performers who had practised assiduously for several weeks past under the direction of Mr G. M. Hewitt (stage manager). Mesdames Vaughan and Howitt were in charge of the grouping and costumes, while Mr J. A. Lowry was in charge of the lighting and mechanical effects. Rev. l C. A. Vaughan made an efficient and humorous chairman, while Mr W. Barker presided at the piano and was responsible for two' splendid .overtures. The following is the programme: —‘‘God Save the King”; song (4 tableaux), “Gipsy’s Warning,” Miss McTavish, Misses Gledstanes and Faison and Mr Darby; song (encored), Mr W T Jones' song (3 tableaux) “Wreath of Roses, ' Miss Barker, Misses M. Vaughan, R. Evans, N. Evans, K; Lowry, F. Webster, L. Armstrong, B. Darby, and Mr 3. Litt; humorous recitation (encored), Mr H. Gribble; septette, “Yen How and His Six Little Wives,” Mr L. Wootten. and Misses Gledstanes, M. Wootten, Feudal, Burgess, Falcon and G. Wootten; comic song- (encored): Mr Blandford; song (3 tableaux), “Little Mr Baggy 1 Breeches,” Miss Palmer, Misses Burgess, Falcon, Wooster, VaugKan, and Messrs Montker, Litt and Master K. McKinney; song (3 tableaux), “By the Fountain,” Miss McTavish, Miss G. Wootten and Mr Murphy; song (encored), Mr W. T. Jones; song (2 tableaux) .“Tea in the Morning,” Miss Palmer,, Misses G. Wootten, flalcon, Burgess, Fendal, M. Wootten, Gledstanes, and Messrs Montker, Litt, Darby (,2) and Murphy; recitation encored),' Mr H.
