PAPAKURA TOWN BOARD.

FORTNIGHTLY MEETING. The usual meeting of the Papakurn Town Board was held on Monday, when there were presnt: Messrs. S. Evans (chairman), T. D. Campbell, Weir, J. Beams, E, .D McLennan, P. Parker and the clerk (Mr A. L. Cooper). Prior to the commencement of the ordinary business, the chairman and Messrs McLennan and Campbell extended a welcome to 'Mr P, Parker v.ho was elected to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr J. Pea. In so doing, the speakers trusted that the newly-elected member would work in harmony with the other members of the Board. Mi Parker, in replv, thanked them for the welcome and assured them he would do all in his power to further the interests of the town district. Water Wanted. With regard to a letter from a resident of Manurewa asking if it was possible for Papakura to supply Manurewa with 35,000 gallons of water daily, the clerk was instructed to reply stating that the Board had only made provision for its own area, but that the Board would be willing to supply Manurewa with water if there was any surplus. A copy of the letter is to be forwarded to the Manurewa Town Board. Rates.
