Mr Mack has left the district and proposes settling near Wanganui. He will be greatly missed in musical circles here. He had a somewhat trying experience shortly after leaving Wairamarama. He was carrying his suit case and other impediments on a horse and being anxious to c.at&h Mr Portullo’s waggon at Onewhero, took a short cut across country, but it was the longest in the end as the pack horse got bogged en route and considerable time was spent before it could be extricated. 1
Mr Cripps and family left recently on a trip to the Old Country. They will probably be away for some time, as they have planned an extensive tour. During his absence Mr Biddick is looking after his property at Wairamarama.
An unfortunate accident marred the opening of the football season, when Mr Stan. Cronin sprained his ankle rather badlv.
Mi’s Kane is staying with friends in Auckland, for a fortnight’s holiday. She is suffering from throat trouble and it is anticipateda slight operation may be necessary.
No sensational bags are reported in the district on the first, although one gentleman had the good fortune to get a couple of pheasants in his own back garden. Some men have all the luck.
The first of a series of dances was held in the Lower Hall on Wednesaay night in aid of the local Football Club. The music was provided by Mr and Mrs Floyd, Mrs Scoble Cornish and Mr Claude Cathcart, and although there was not a good attendance, those present spent a most enjoyable evening.
