PUKEKOHE EAST.

On Monday night, May 2, the householders’ meeting was well attended. Mr. Watkin Robinson was voted to the chair. The treasurers report showed a good substantial balance, with buildings and ground in good % repair and condition. Great dissatisfaction was expressed with the headmaster, for although the inspector’s report was satisfactory, the householders feel and know there is much slackness in regard to discipline. In all eight persons were nominated for the committee and after a very contest the following were Messrs T. Hamilton (chairman), J. R, Ferguson (secretary and treasuier), T. Carter y A. Mahony, and J. W. Robinson. | A grand concert is advertised for Friday, May 20, in the Public Hall, and from particulars which have reached your correspondent it is safe to say that a musical treat awaits the residents.
