NOXIOUS WEEDS PEST.
STRINGENT STEPS TO BE TAKEN. The various local bodies in and adjacent to Pukekohe are determined to enforce the provisions of the Act for the purpose of eradicating noxious weeds. Seldom a meeting is held unless numerous complaints are received, At the Borough Council’s last meeting Cr Morrow mentioned it appeared that the blackberries had taken possession of Queen Street. Cr Patterson also drew the Council’s 'attention to the blackberry clumps in King Street, several of which hung over on to the footpath. The town clerk was instructed to notify offenders that action would be taken against them unless the blackberry was cut within 14 days. Several complaints came before the Franklin County Council and the Tuakau Town Board, and both authorities instructed their clerks to notify the noxious weeds inspector at once.
