DRILL HALL PROBABLE.
DEPARTMENTAL EXPERIMENTS. DECISION IN~THREE MONTHS. The advisability of taking steps to urge upon the authorities to erect a Drill Hall at Pukekohe, suitable to the requirements of the district, was stressed at the last meeting of the Bordugh Council, when the clerk was authorised to write the Defence Department, through the member for the district (Rt. Hon. W. F. Massey) asking that the matter be carefully considered, and the request be given effect to.
Mr Massey replied at Wednesday’s meeting of the Council, advising that the question would be decided when certain experiments, now being made by the Defence Department in connection with the transfer and reeiection of buildings from the Expeditionary Force camps for use as drill halls, had been completed. He anticipated that a decision in the matter was possible within the next three months. It was decided to defer the matter pending the Department’s decision.
