A Masterton business man last week received a most humorous example of Yankee business methods. He placed an otrder for goods with a traveller on a certain date and nine days afterwards cabled cancelling the order, owing to the high price. The American firm, which could not possibly have received the order wrote a most effusive letter the day after receiving the cable stating that, although the entire order was packed and ready for shipment, they had decided, at considerable inconvenience to themselves, to agree to the cancellation.
